Bounce Protection
This is a special overdraft privilege for checking customers. Having a check returned due to insufficient funds can be a costly and humiliating experience. That’s why we provide “Bounce Protection”, a special overdraft privilege for the State Bank of Bement’s checking customers. “Bounce Protection” gives you an extra level of protection against unanticipated cash flow emergencies and account reconciliation errors. At the State Bank of Bement, we do not encourage overdrafts. As always, we encourage you to manage your finances responsibly. The purpose of this privilege is to save you from the embarrassment, additional merchant fees or other problems that might result if a check is returned. - Enroll in eStatements, our Electronic Statements service. Receive statements electronically by safely and securely logging into your eTouch24 account. Use of this service is free and statements can be viewed or saved electronically. In order to begin to receive statements electronically, you must have a user name and password for eTouch24. Visit or call us to obtain a user name and password. Once inside your eTouch24 account, simply go to the eStatements tab at the top and complete the short 5-step enrollment process. Once enrolled, an email will be sent to you when your statement is ready to be viewed. In order to retrieve your statement or view your statement, log into your eTouch24 account and choose the account statement you would like to view. You have the option to "view" or "save". If you send statements to an accountant, this service can also be used to safely and securely send your accountant your statement as soon as it is ready. The bank will send it for you! - Agency Agreements, where the bank is authorized to act as agent for the owner of certain property
- Testamentary Trusts, those set up in the Last Will and Testament of a decedent

- Protect your Social Security number. Don’t carry your Social Security card in your wallet or write your Social Security number on a check. Only give it out when absolutely necessary or ask to use another identifier.

- Should you have fraud on any accounts, close the account(s) and follow up in writing with copies of supporting documents. Ask for verification that the disputed account has been closed and the fraudulent debts discharged keep copies of documents and records of your conversations about the theft.
- File a police report with law enforcement officials to help you with creditors who may want proof of the crime.
- Report the theft to the Federal Trade Commission online at ftc.gov/idtheft, by phone at 1-877-ID-THEFT (438-4338), or 1-866-653-4261, or by mail at Identity Theft Clearinghouse, Federal Trade Commission, Washington, DC 20580.
- eTouch24 with Free Bill Pay – Allows you to pay bills without writing checks or spending money on envelopes and stamps. Bill payments go electronically, so the paper and gas that it normally takes to drive to the post office is saved!

In addition to the natural resources used to manufacture and print paper checks, processing the checks relies heavily on our nation’s transportation systems, including trucks and airplanes.
